About the exchange rates

Rates are mid-market reference rates supplied by ExchangeRate-API and are refreshed about once a day. The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy and sell prices on currency markets.

Banks, card issuers and money transfer services add a margin or fee, so the rate you actually get will usually be a little worse than the one shown here. Use this converter for estimates and comparisons, and confirm the final rate with your provider before sending money.

How currency conversion is calculated

The converted amount equals the amount multiplied by the exchange rate between the two currencies. If 1 USD = 0.90 EUR, then 250 USD = 250 × 0.90 = 225 EUR.

Frequently asked questions

How often are the exchange rates updated?

The rates are refreshed about once every 24 hours. The date of the rates in use is shown under the result.

Why is my bank's rate different?

The converter shows the mid-market rate. Banks and transfer services add their own margin and fees on top, so their customer rate is less favourable.

Which currencies can I convert?

More than 160 currencies are supported, including the US dollar, euro, British pound, Pakistani rupee, Indian rupee, UAE dirham and Saudi riyal.

Can I use these rates for trading?

No. The rates are daily reference rates for information only and are not suitable for trading decisions.
