Units Duel Game

Two measurements, one question: which is bigger? Build a streak and sharpen your feel for unit conversions.

How to use the Units Duel Game

  1. Two measurements in different units appear side by side.
  2. Click the one you think is larger.
  3. A correct answer adds to your streak; a wrong answer shows the conversion and resets it. Your best streak is saved in your browser.

A quick way to learn conversions

Memorising conversion factors is hard; comparing real amounts is easier. Each round of Units Duel shows two quantities of the same kind in different units, for example 5 miles and 7 kilometers. Deciding which is bigger forces you to estimate the conversion in your head.

After every answer the game shows both values in the same unit, so you learn the relationship even when you guess wrong. Rounds cover length, weight, volume, speed, temperature, area and data storage.

Estimation tips

  • A kilogram is a bit more than 2 pounds; a mile is about 1.6 km.
  • A US gallon is just under 4 liters.
  • To turn Celsius into Fahrenheit, double it and add 30 for a rough answer.
