Custom Unit Converter

Define your own units, such as boxes, pallets, batches or game currencies, and convert between them. Your units are saved in this browser.

How to use the Custom Unit Converter

  1. Name the base unit for your set, for example "piece".
  2. Add each custom unit with the number of base units it equals, for example "box = 24" and "pallet = 960".
  3. Enter a value and choose the two units to convert between. Your units are stored in your browser for next time.

When custom units are useful

Standard converters only know official units. Many everyday conversions use units that exist only in your work or hobby:

  • Packaging and inventory: pieces, boxes, cartons and pallets.
  • Cooking and production: batches, trays and servings.
  • Games: gold, gems and other in-game currencies.
  • Time and billing: story points, work days and sprints.

Every custom unit is defined by how many base units it equals. To convert, the tool multiplies by the first unit’s factor and divides by the second: 3 pallets × 960 ÷ 24 = 120 boxes.

Your unit list is kept in your browser’s local storage. It is not sent anywhere, and it will not appear on other devices.
